What better way to start a Monday morning than a swim in Lake Malawi at 6am!!! Bliss :) Phoebe, Nicole, Randa, Stephan and I jumped the waves and swam for a good hour!

I really was thinking of all you guys starting work in a few hours honestly :)

We had a late breakfast at 8.30am and then hit the road again, heading to the capital of Malawi Lilongwe! I don't think I've mentioned the roads in Africa...! The truck journey is worse than what I imagine it would be like for sheep in a float! Hehe. It's too bumpy to read and you get thrown about and bounced up and down continuously, not the smoothest of roads and they're ALL the same!

Anyways today we attempted to play Boa on the table, it was really good fun well basically only because I kept winning for a while and winner stayed on :) It's the Malawi wooden game with coco beans! We stopped for lunch at the side of the road, our team is back on kitchen duty today so Nicole and I made a huge fruit salad but it was so hot and there was loads of flies - wasn't the coolest of spots!

When we reached Lilongwe we stopped at a westernised shopping centre for food supplies and we were given an hour to look round the shops! There was a huge Spar supermarket and that's the first proper shop I'd seen since I left home 5 and a half weeks ago!!! Everyone was well excited to actually get some normality and see fridges that worked.

The campsite tonight was also a backpackers which was pretty cool, as there was a swimming pool we could use, a bar and wifi! Nicole and I skipped kitchen duties to go for a swim with a few ciders hehe. but I promised to do all the washing up instead!

We managed to pour the whole bucket of dirty dish water over Greg! It was hilarious, he soaked Claire in the morning with cold clean water so Phoebe, Claire and I decided to get him back!

I drank the bar dry of cider and the local beer was disgusting, but probably for the best I stopped drinking!

Managed to get a viber call with Mum n Dad, Jen and Andrew which was really fine. Tonight I was sharing with Nicole so after uploading my blog it was about 11pm before I headed to the tent!!

It's fine and cool tonight! I even zipped up my sleeping bag for the first time! :) night folks xxx
