I took it easy today. I've been to San Fran before so I've seen quite a lot already. Besides, I can't walk a lot because of my swollen foot. So, I decide to go to the downtown Ross (one of their flagship stores) for a bit of shopping.
I "discovered" a lovely design and furniture store called CB2 today. They have some great retro-inspired pieces and are not afraid to use colour and texture. I was particularly inspired by their novel indoor hanging plant holders made of glass. I would like to have some exotic plants and herbs back home to put in the kitchen. They're very well priced (just a little bit more than Ikea) yet the quality seems really good.
On the way back to the hostel, I walked past a fab looking Mexican restaurant, Tropisueño, near Yerba Gardens so we went there for dinner. Started off with cocktails - I had a Florecer cocktail with hibiscus infused tequila, orange bitters, lemon and agave - topped with cava! Delicious! Followed, very rapidly, by a Pepino Marguerita: Herradura silver, fresh cucumber purée and a hint of creme de Violette shaken over ice. Like tzatziki without the garlic, yum! I've never enjoyed tequila, until now, that is! Dinner was amazing - I had their Pollo Asado which was free-range chicken grilled to perfection! So juicy on the inside and spicy on the outside, it made me cry big happy tears of joy! It was so huge that I could only eat half of it - and only for $15!
