Noosa is amazing! It's such a pretty town, really quaint and it's on the Sunshine Coast so the weather is gorgeous! We arrived on Sunday evening around half past 5, the hostel picked us up and drove us back which was only about 5 minutes. We settled into our room which was a 5 bed, sharing with 2 French girls who were really nice and also had suitcases so we were instantly friends!! The hostel was probably the nicest we've been in, really cute old lodges in a woody kind of area, fire and candles up the walkway which just made it look gorgeous. We went to the welcome meeting and found out some things today, free glass of wine was a bonus! We then had dinner at the hostel as they have a restaurant which is so good! We had the special which was a delicious curry! We sat outside for a while in the cute candlelit area and we saw the moon too which was a full moon and bigger then usual as it was closer to the earth or something sciencey like that! We had booked to go to the Australia Zoo on Monday so it was an early start! This is the zoo that Steve Irwin had a lot to do with so there was so many cool things there. The coach was about an hour and 45 mins from Noosa so it wasn't long at all to get there. The zoo was AMAZING!! I literally could write for hours about it! So instead of loads of boring details I'm going to list what we did in short:
* fed kangaroos that just run around free in their area, so much fun we spent about 45 mins there!
* held a koala - amazing!
* fed a giraffe - also amazing!
* watched a bird/reptile/crocodile show
*went to a koala talk which was cool and listened to lots of facts
And then we did loads of zoo based things!!
When we got back we were hungry and it was quite late so we went for a wander around Hastings which is like a 2 minute walk from our hostel. It's so pretty! Lights in all the trees, really cute shops, lovely little restaurants and just a really calm, relaxed atmosphere around! We had a look around and decided on a steak house restaurant! Sat outside which was nice as we were up on the first floor so looked out over the street and the pretty lights! I had the nicest meal I've had so far here, it was amazing! The girls enjoyed their starters but not their mains as much, we then had homemade white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake - amazing!! We stayed for a while at the restaurant sipping on wine and just having a nice chilled night! The next day we got up and went to the Noosa National Park. It took about 10 minutes and it was all along the coast so as you can imagine the views were amazing! We didn't see any dolphins or whales which can be seen from different points but we saw some pretty views and had lots of fun climbing down to see the little rock pools! We then walked back and chilled on the beach for a while, Ellie and I even braved the water which was surprisingly okay! We had to do some washing in the evening As we have our Fraser Island and Whitsundays trips coming up and know that we will struggle to wash In-between those. We had a nice pizza dinner in the evening with a few cheeky bottles of wine! I even tried to play in the Ping pong tournament but only scored 2 points!! We are sad to leave as Noosa really is a lovely place but very excited to head to rainbow beach and Fraser Island!! x
