So we made it to Perth after saying a sad goodbye to Baz...we spent a couple of days in Perth seeing the city and taking in the view from King's Park and then we moved out to Freemantle where we checked out the markets and spent a day on Rottnest Island. It was really beautiful with turquoise water, white sandy bays and little quokkas (furry walaby type animals) running around. We hired bikes and cycled round the island with a few snorkel stops. On Sunday we walked from Freo to Cottesloe beach, had dinner at The Blue Duck on the North beach and watched the sunset, my dad's favourite Perth restaurant, very nice!
After that we hired a big toyota and headed south. We stopped to see Busselton Pier, a 1.8km long wooden pier and we also explored the Ngilgi cave.We spent a couple of nights staying in a railway carriage in Dunsborough surrounded by chooks and cows while we explored the wine region. We took a tour round 4 wineries, a chocolate factory, a cheese factory and a brewery yesterday and this morning we've already visited Simmo's ice creamery and the bush shack brewery, all very tasty!
At the weekend we're seeing Sean's Aunt Kathleen in Perth and then we'll go North and look around up there a bit....Keep in touch, see you soon, Love Vic x
