Hello from Singapore! We're loving it here (my hair's struggling with the humidity as you'll see in the photos but apart from that it's all good!).
On our first day we did so much; we saw The Merlion fountain, Singapore's crazy half mermaid half lion symbol, had singapore slings in the famous Raffles Hotel, wandered through the markets of Arab and Bugis Streets and had tasty food from the hawker markets.
We went on a free walking tour of the Kampong Glam area to understand more about Islam and to see the muslims breaking their ramadan fast at sunset in the temple. They can't eat or even drink water during daylight hours for a whole month, it was humbling to see their patience as they waited for the call to eat.
We've also been on a bumbung boat along the river, had afternoon tea at Raffles, seen the deepavali lights festival in little India and been to Mustafa, the craziest 24 hour shopping centre piled high with millions of everything!
Last night we watched England beat France in a bar in Clarke Quay, it was worth staying up til 5 to see it. We've got one more day here before our bus up to KL to meet Sean's nephew Samuel for the first time! I'll put some more photos on when we're there.
Keep in touch, lots of love Vicky x
