We are now in Wellington, unfortunately, due to the buses not running everyday, we can only stay 1 night which is a shame as we would have liked to have been able to see a bit of the capital! There is also apparently a lot of free stuff to do around here, so that would have been an added bonus! Oh well. Yesterday we left Queenstown and had a horribly long journey up to Kaikoura, with a bus change in Christchurch. It was weird being back in the same hostel we had been in 2 weeks before! Didn't do much in the day as we were just travelling, but we stopped off for lunch at Lake Tekapo - somewhere I had wanted to go as my friend Livi had recommended it - so I was glad we were able to stop off there. It was a really beautiful lake (you never get bored of them here!) and the sun was out and I went on a small walk by myself and it was so quiet and peaceful. Had to return to the bus all to soon though! We then just cooked beans on toast for dinner when we arrived in Kaikoura and chatted with some people on our bus.

Today we drove from Kaikoura to Picton and caught the 3 and a half hour ferry over to the North Island, I was quite sad to be leaving the South Island as I haver loved it and everyone says it's the better of the two, but we shall see! Arrived in Wellington this evening, so couldn't even see any of the town when we arrived. Looking forward to going to Taupo tomorrow and seeing the North Island, with a new bus!
