Not much to tell today. We left Newport heading south on 101. We were a little unsure how long it would take us to travel. The roads are windy and the speed limit is 55 mph or less. Before you say it most people stick to it. Anyway we headed for Coos bay were we decided we would make a decision. In the end it didnt take as long to get there as we thought. We had a lovely couple of days In Portland. It is nice to have a break from the car but this is a road trip so we packed up and headed off. In many ways from now on is what this part of the trip was meant to be about. Travelling down Route 101, the Pacific coast highway. We battled the traffic to get out of Portland and picked up route 8 west bound. Now it seems to me that the Americans must have some sort of homing instinct because signs for Route 8 just dissape...

When we arrived at the motel in Aberdeen it was about 5pm. Our room had a door joining it to the next room. We could hear the tele but it was early and live and let live eh. We got back from dinner around 9pm and we could still hear it but not loud. When we went to sleep around 11 we just thought whoever was in there had gone out and left the tele on.
