Just a short update. We've left san Francisco. Went out over the Bay bridge which seems to be longer than the Golden Gate and equally impressive. Not sure why the GG gets all the attention.

Most of the drive was a bit mundane. Just freeway and industrial areas.

Eventually we came over a brow and the whole landscape changed. First on a long stretch there were corn fields as far as you could see on one side of the road and olive plantations on the other. This soon gave way to open prarie with mountains in the distance. Very scenic. Just like you see in old western movies.

As we reached our stoping point for the night from out of the scrub a Bobcat (Lynx) shot across the road. Not very big but tiddles would not want to meet him.

Amyway tonight we are holed up in a motel in Mariposa in the Sierra Nevada. It's an old mining town and quite quaint in parts.

Tomorrow we are heading off into Yosemite national park. Hope the weather holds.

ps Its Karaoke night in the motel bar tonight but we forgot our rocking chair and banjo....squeal like a piggie.
