No photos of the fireworks, though - I followed security advice and left my phone in the apartment...so they're all on Andy's camera. But there are several we can bore you all with when we get home!! We wandered round the city today, and spent an interesting couple of hours in the Museum of Sydney. Loads of imaginative exhibits, including a huge sand tray for kids with these Opera House moulds! Loved it. Then to the Harbour for our six hour cruise, with two lots...

So here we are in Sydney! Landed a little before 7am and our friend Mike picked us up, took us on a tour of some of the coastline on our way to the city and dropped us off at our apartment, where we were able to leave our bags. Off on a ferry trip across the harbour to Manly, where I paddled - it has to be done - and then back to Circular Quay and walked round to the Opera House. Had a lovely day, walked 5-6 km and got my feet covered in blisters... hmm! Two things we've never done before - a treetop canopy walk in the Southern Ridges national parks (opposite Sentosa) to see the real rainforest, and then the fake forest of super trees which so impressed Sir David Attenborough! Equally impressive but in a very different way...my vote still goes to the real variety...!

Had a lovely nostalgic wander along the river walk, down to Merlion Park...then a cold beer and a plate of satay overlooking the river. So good to be back here - many fond memories.

We could get used to this - from taxi to business lounge in 12 minutes!!
