Just on way to airport. Stopped off at the beach at the end of the runway. Picture is of a plane landing only feet over head. When a jet takes off it blows sand everywhere and makes huge waves for people to surf on. There are some young folk daft enough to try to hold onto the runway fence right under the plane. A normal picnic lunch on the deck! Think we are tiring of this food and beginning to long for simpler fare. When we step on the scales it will be evident that we need a period of severe abstinence. It's really hot today and we are about to seek shade having cooked for most of the morning.

Beautiful sunny day. Days on board running out. 500 miles to go. Captains dinner tomorrow -and we have been invited onto his table! Will have to find something clean to wear. We keep putting the clocks back and think we must be on St. Maarten time by now. We were all given crossing T shirts yesterday so there was much swapping of sizes. Most of us wore them to dinner and we looked like an aged school outing. A busy day playing deck golf!

750 miles to go and it has rained all night and only now at noon is showing signs of blue sky. Later- still cloudy but light winds and a gentle rolling sea. Beginning to wonder if we will be able to walk a straight line when we reach terra firms.
