Today we woke up to rain - the first we have seen on our trip. It has also turned a lot colder. We were off to Boursa - a town south of Damascus that used to be the capital of Arabia in Roman times.We had a 7:30 alarm and were out for 8:30. Today was moving day - going from Jordan to Syria. We made an early start - 6:00 am alarm - not use to this since Ken & Judi went home. The first leg of the journey was getting the bus to Amman - which turned out to be relatively painless. It was then across Amman to pick up a shared taxi (we had missed the 7:00a.m bus and the next one was 3:00p.m). The shared taxi is a large taxi (takes 4 to 5 passengers) and goes when its full. We spent the first part of the day finishing off seeing the sites of Amman - there aren't that many. We walked up the hill to see the Citadel - the walk up the hill nearly finished us off before we had started. The Citadel is a large site although it is mostly ruins. We woke up to the delight of only tepid water from a broken shower - didn't check this out when we checked in to the hotel. It was still freezing so it was a very quick shower, breakfast and out. We said goodbye to Ken & Judi this morning. They left to go down to Aqaba, then through Israel (Eilat) and into Egypt (Taba) before going down to Dahab and relative luxury. We were off on the bus to Karak to see the crusader castle. We arrived at the bus station to find there was no bus to Karak (we thought this may be the case) so hopped on the bus to Amman.
