The moment i arrived in Florence i instantly loved it much more then Rome. It had a really nice feel about it and was full of locals instead of millions of tourists. I found my hostel 'Plus Florence' which was a 5 star hostel! It had a pool, spa, sauna, bar, restaurant, nice rooms with balcony's and clean beds, so good! The ferry ride to Rome was so funny - full of Italians that danced to the weirdest traditional music, i stayed outside for ages watching Croatia slowly disappear into a blur of tiny lights in the distance and explored the ship trying to delay curling up on the floor for more sleep.. The gateway to Croatia by ferry is through a run down old port town called 'Ancona'. Its a horrible place full of dilapidated buildings, ugly graffiti, strange creepy people (mostly men) and rubbish lining the streets. It is a port town an that's about it....
