Hello from Ukraine! I am doing great here. Although I cannot understand what people are saying very well, they are relatively nice. It is a beautiful city. It has a junglish feel to it. It's hot, humid, and green.
So here I am in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. I have done many fun things already, so let me tell you about them. I came in from the airport around 9:00 am our time. Their time it was 6:00 pm. It was horrible. I took so many flights! I went from Evergreen to Chicago, Then from Chicago to Turkey, then from Turkey to Ukraine. I am still getting used to the time change. Anyway, the airport I landed in here was the Boryspil International Airport. It is right outside of Kiev. It is a pretty big airport, lots of people too. When I got out of there, I paid $40 in U.S. money for a shuttle minibus transfer and luggage delivered. I thought it was expensive but it was the safest option.
I took a taxi to my hotel after I was dropped off. Ukraine has alot of new roads being built, so we had to take many detours. I checked in to my hotel, and went to bed. I was very tired. Probably the most tired I have ever been. I could have fallen asleep standing up. The next day, I went to a morning soccer game. It was Ukraine Vs. Manchester United. It was electrifying! The fans were cheering very loud. They took it seriously. We came so close so many times to scoring a point. Ukraine sadly lost the game 1 to 0.
That night, I went to the Ukrainian Independence day festival. It was amazing. The streets were lined with decorations, and there was a huge parade with fireworks and food and everything! There were people in bright and vibrant costumes, bands playing patriotic music, and street perfomers doing backflips and standing on their hands. It was incredible.
Bye!
