I've always been drawn to mountains. The occasional camping trip as a child sparked this pull, and my experiences at Camp Jack Hazard solidified my enduring love for seeking then out. There's a peace that you feel being in them and next to them; a calm that helps you breathe a little easier (or it could just be the clean air).

I finally saw the Tetons today. They have been featured on countless covers of my Backpacker magazines and depicted on several nature shows. They are beautiful: jagged peaks that thrust out of a flat plain, forests, and mountain lakes. We spent much of our time just staring in awe. We also took a ferry across the lake and spent some time hiking in them. They are so alive and awe-inspiring. I feel at peace.
