We spent the day touring around the great city of Chicago! I didn't realize what a big city it was, so thankfully we were with relatives who knew the city well. We had expected to venture into the city by ourselves, so we were pleasantly surprised when the Lei, Cherry, Yei, Connie, and their five children decided to join us so they could show us around their hometown. We were so touched by their generosity and genuine excitement about us visiting them. It was a hot, sticky day, so we stopped frequently for refreshment breaks as we walked down the street known as The Magnificent Mile. This busy street was packed full of tourists and shops galore. To get to The Magnificent Mile, we drove down to Navy Pier and then took a Water Taxi down a canal lined with buildings that had unique architecture. Navy Pier was a boardwalk along the lakeshore that was bustling with tourists, ferris rides and shops. It was especially nice to be a tourist with locals to show us around. They knew a lot about the history of Chicago, and told us stories about the buildings as we passed them. Unfortunately, we didn't get to taste a Chicago dog or a deep dish pizza because we were beyond stuffed from the Dim Sum meal we shared earlier in China town with the entire Moy family. We truly treasured the day we had in Chicago because we got to spend quality time with Ty's maternal side of the family. The Moys are wonderful people, and Chicago was an A+ city!
