Haroooo all

Okay, if too many typos its cause I'm tanked....it happens. Never travel with a mickey in easy reach....scotch and rum....that's so gunna hurt ah well......LOL. Me and Mike upon completion of our meals ended back up at the hotel. Mostly cause the restaurant was closing.....hmmmm seems when waiter stares at you...taps fingers a lot...sighs a bunch...this may be a universal sign for "Pay bill and give biggggg tip and leave....plz" Great staff at the restaurant...I think. He joked a lot....always a good thing.

Made it to the hotel and talked the gal into pouring us some good scotch and we sat on the front stoop sippin em So that is right on the grand canal. Very weird but cool one slip and sploosh.....

Soooo Wahoo we are in Venice. still pretty cool pretty, little surreeal! We gots up and met for breakfast. Over supper the night before we figured we would look for a way to maximize our stay in Venice....get a late checkout and and depart same day. So the gal was not the same gal when we checked in ...she was nice...this one...not so. I asked about a late check out from 11...usually I can get 1:00 pm no problem well.....she looked at me like I was from mars.....not a good sign...she nicely said 11:30....I countered..... 11:45....got the stare again......gave up...11:30 it is. So we had a lil bit of time to explore and off we went. No bikes...they are locked up and out of site. I figured we should go to the other side of the Grand canal to check it out.

So you go to the local boat crossing....2 euro....you get on the boat....the classic gondola style boat but stand ......in a minute you are across. I think the first thing I learned about boating was not to stand in a canoe.....ah well they been doing it this way for a lonnnnnnnnnng time.

So off we went.....first into the fish market.....holy fishy. You name it its there, and fresh. Moving on....we quickly realized how easy it will be to get lost here.....is a serious maze......nothing makes sense address wise. So we decide to not get too far from the canal and checked out a few shops. Lots of tourist stuff.........and now......twas time to see if we can get a sim card. The TIM store was right across from the hotel.

So we wandered back .... another ferry ride....hmmm same crew....doing some mental math 2 euro a pop adds up fast. Found the store and in a minute had a simm card, only had to wait a half hour before using it....seems to take a bit activate. About here Mike got hit by the hmmmm gotta go be alone and pontificate moments...so I found a nice cafe.....coffee and a pastry and did some people watching. Mike caught up in a lil while skipping with a big grin....I suspect it went well....sat for a bit and then it was time to pack up make a route and go.

Well it seems Bologna........tres cool...they have all the towers. A very medieval town, just so happens to be on me bucket list....to get to the top of the tower if possible. So with a few beeps n boops...the track was in the GPS. Not the best riding because we are in flat lands now but this will put us in a spot right near great roads. We get our bags together check out....troddle off to the main ferry and next thing you know we are at the main entry to Venice. The ferry was way busier than before.

We commence to load up.....hot video on youtube alert as had to change into gear there. Managed to back out of the spot we were in.....and that was a tight one.....and then hit the road.

The ride was nice but not anything to write about.....me gal got us to the hotel we picked found parking right in front...we off loaded....and dumped our stuff.....changed and off we went to explore. Nice hotel and cheap too.....they all have been good and cheap so far. (Booking.com....it works)

Mike got to see his first cathedral....very impressive....and then we wandered around to find the towers....found one tower....its only a sort of a block from where the hotel is. They look neat.....very old. Can't go in them. We walk on...and then ta daaaaaa there are the two towers.....wow very tall....only built to say I'm more important than you. The whole area is soooo old...its cool. The bizzare thing is that its so old yet new stores and markets are right next to them Cars are zipping by...tourists like us gawking......taking silly pics. So I cross the street to get close go around the one......interesting but no way in. Go over to the second one....looks like an art shop is in the main floor.....go around the other side

....and que the excited tourists.....a gal and guy pop out of a little cubby hole called an entrance and she is grinning from ear to ear. She babbles on about how amazing the view is from up the tower.....and she went on and on....didn't need to ask me twice.

Into the tower we went. 3 euro....and it is only a small square room with slippery old stairs going along the inside wall. Very narrow......soo up we went.....after a lot of stairs......we hit a landing.....and Mike decided he was going to take his pics from here. So off I went.....holy crap batman. What a crazy stair climb.....was almost delusional by the time I hit the top. Saw the light at the end of the tunnel picked up my tongue off the stair and dragged it onto the the top.....and wowwwwwwwwwww. What a view. I caught e breath grabbed some pics. Took it in....and off I went for a marathon run down the stairs.....I was dizzy by the time I got down. Found Mike and time for a beer. So did the usual....sit in an open cafe sipping drinks.

After some more wandering......we found the prison.....and our hotel....grabbed some supper....from across the street....bit pricey but very good. It was time after that to callit a night......strange I keep falling asleep sitting up here....

I've always wondered if you can get a bolognie sandwich in Bologna.....didn't see any......
