Travels with Anne & Kevin
11/3 Another driving day, we made stops in four states, all at the same time. Heading south toward Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, we detoured for a drive up and down the amazing Moki Dugway, a three-mile gravel road to the top of a mesa, the Dugway ascends via a series of ten-degree switchbacks. Continuing south and east, we made relatively brief stops at Monument Valley and, later, at Four Corners before making our way to Hovenweep National Monument where ancestral Puebloans constructed several buildings along the rim of a canyon during the 13th Century. Hovenweep actually encompasses several locations along the Utah/Colorado border, but we were only able to visit the main Square Tower area before returning to Bluff.
