Leather Seats!
We arrived in Salta yesterday afternoon after a journey on the most amazing bus ever! It had two floors like a double decker but had loads of leg room and leather seats!! They also showed a fairly decent English speaking film and had free soft drinks. It only took a few hours to get to Salta but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had front row seats!!
Salta
Salta is a fairly large city with a massive main plaza and a pink cathedral! It`s got a really good atmosphere and seems to be constantly moving. I was really excited as they even have grass, something which we`ve scarcely seen since Brazil, but you`re not allowed to go on it. They even have guards to check! Apart from that we`ve really enjoyed our day and a half here and would definately stay for longer if we had more time. Last night we had a long walk round the city as the sun was setting and today we walked round the city and then to San Martin park where we caught a cable car up to the top of San Bernardo hill (mountain? It´s 1500m above sea level). The views of Salta were incredible and we spent a happy couple of hours there eating a picnic and reading (actually I watched the grass while Craig read, no you couldn`t go on it!). We then walked down the 1070 steps to the bottom and looked on in amazement as crazy people jogged up the steps in a very humid 26 degrees! Tonight we`re heading out for a few drinks and maybe some shopping then getting up early to catch a bus to Tucuman.
