The last stage of our tour saw us returning to Havana for one final night. On the way we stopped off in Santa Clara and the Che monument and museum to learn a little more about the Cuban hero from Argentina. We wondered what he would think if he saw modern day Cuba. The monument itself was impressive and the museum was the same as most museums in Cuba (totally in Spanish and displaying numerous nik naks). Fortunately our guide translated the story and made it as interesting as our tired minds could handle.
Our last night in Havana started with an excellent sunset tour of the city in a couple of classic 1950s cars which had been beautifully maintained for tourists. The radio blared funky Latino music as we cruised the city with the roof down, soaking up the sights and sounds one last time. After one final dinner with the group we grabbed a quick daiquiri at the birthplace of the daiquiri - Floriditas. We sipped these as we enjoyed the last of the buzzing Havana atmosphere, then it was off to bed. We now had 4 days of all inclusive luxury to look forward to!
