A whole day in Barcelona!!! Here we go!!
We just wanted to explore this awesome city. We took the metro to the stop for the Picasso museum. But the line was an eternity long. And who wants to spend their one day in Barcelona waiting in line? So we started walking, and kept walking, and covered some of the coolest parts of the city.
We walked down to the Olympic Park where the 1992 Olympics were held. We had mojitos and beer by the ocean. We ate delicious paella and drank sangria (2 more things I really wanted to do in Spain!!). We took the metro down to the start of La Rambla, a huge pedestrian street in central Barcelona which is the best place for people watching ever. It starts at Port Vell, where we took our Travel Chicken picture in front of the statue of Christopher Columbus (long story, but Aunt Ann and Sue will understand!). We wandered around the pier, looking at cruise ships and taking in amazing views of the city. We strolled down the street, buying some last minute souvenirs and enjoying the evening. The street ends at Plaça de Catalunya, a gorgeous square where people were making bubbles and sketchy men were selling fake purses and running away whenever the cops came. I love this city!
