As has become the norm, or the tradition, we set up a makeshift camp in the car park of central Bad Nenndorf and made a hot drink. Generally, these drinks are either fresh brewed coffee or fresh brewed Yorkshire Gold tea. When we have tea, its made properly in a tea pot. The tea pot is actually one which was used years ago by my late parents (who were similarly keen on the practice of DIY road side refreshment making). TJ and I agree that doing this satisfies a kind of primeval need for self sufficiency, and sub set of this ethos is a need to "beat the system", that is to remain independent to some degree from the establishment. Indeed, we have observed that passers by look at us quizzically, as if to say "why are you doing that, when you can obviously purchase similar refreshments from near by cafes?". They are, of course correct "prima facie", but the activity, as explained, is far more complex than it at first seems.
