Whilst consciousness remains a mystery (the Hard question, again), which suggests that there may be no such thing as a true "meeting of minds" with any individual's fellow man, there further remains the mystery of our relationship with other species. Here Xena is distinctly recognising that I exist, and one can witness that there is an undeniably interactive process occurring. What does this mean? Dunno.
