As old hands in the road trip business, we started the day leisurely with Breakfast at "El Platio" in the suburb of Valencia called La Canyada. There's something inexplicable (and wonderful) about Spanish restaurants in that, in my opinion, even the humblest of places seem to be able to serve up something extraordinarily tasty, however simple the basic dish is. On this occasion, I had two fried eggs on toast and coffee and both items ranked as possibly the most delicious I'd ever consumed. We were duly primed for the road.
