The fragmentation of the political scene into factional localized interest groups is epitomized by Leanne Wood whose opening speech mentioned “Wales” and “Welsh” several hundred times. There must have been groaning on sofas throughout the land (probably including in Wales, too). Most subsequent questions were dealt with a Welsh interest twist, but, personally, I think her Welsh accent was too central casting to be genuine.
