Jonny might end up being the subject of quizzes for a while – he’s the chirpy school boy (grinning, centre) who kicked off the mass debate. I can’t remember what his question was, but it was asked with confidence and assuredness. Maybe he’s the new William Haig in waiting. What was rather irritating is that all the participants, extremely anxious to appear respectful, insisted on thanking young Jonny by name for a very good question and they continued to mention his name over and over again throughout the programme, “as Jonny rightly observed” etc, thus underlining the lad’s 15 minutes of fame. By the end of question one, which seemed to last half an hour, all I could hear was a dull drone with the word “Jonny” thrown in about every 20 seconds or so.
