Hi Everyone, our first few days have been crazy but we are having a fab time and have arrived safetly in Chiang Mai!

Bangkok was good but a bit crazy and dirty - 2 days was plenty of time! On tuesday we had a really good day starting with a tuck tuck ride around the city to all the temples for 10bahts (8p), they then dropped us off at the river where we got a longtail "boat" around the water ways of Bangkok which was eye opening but really fun. The boat took us through the river market and to a fish farm where 100s of fish surrounded the boat while we fed them. The water was disgusting but Thai children were happily swimming in it! The boat dropped us off at the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddah which were amazing!! Then it was back to hotel for a rest before heading out again. Me and Emma had a Thai massage at the hotel which was an interesting experience - you are crawled all over and bent in directions which i never thought possible. Em enjoyed it but I was not so keen!! In the evening we headed to the main tourist road and met up with some people we had met the night before for some drinks...it all got a little messy...and then...yes... we ended up at a "ping pong" show which was the most disgusting thing we have ever seen but I suppose it has to be done! Yesterday we took the train to Chiang Mai which took 13 hours, so it was not the best day so far.

Tomorrow we are off on a trek which includes elephant riding, bamboo rafting, visitng hill tribes and swimming in waterfalls , then on Saturday we are going white water rafting! all the for 26pounds - bargain!!
