Well we have spent an extra night here due to the unexpectedness which is Bolivia!
Getting our money back from Amazonia's was surprisingy easy and we spent the rest of the day wandering around, looking at the monuments and enjoying the unexpected warm weather it was off for tea. We decided on The Steakhouse. A great decision. Phil had ribs and I had the bife de chorizo (steak). Both perfectly cooked with great chips to go wth it. An expensive meal for Bolivia but worth every penny.
After collecting our bags it was off to the bus station for our 14 hour overnight bus to Uyuni . .or so we thought. . .
After arriving at the bus station it seemed very strange to see the sheer number of people waiting around and the fact no buses were leaving. Turns out they have decided to blockade the road! No idea why and as it turns out the bus companies decided it was easier to make people wait 2 hours before saying that the bus may not leave rather than admit that it was cancelled!!
After getting our tickets re-issued for the following night it was back to the hotel and to shock Helen. Luckily we were able to get a room again in our same hotel which was nice.
Dragging our sick bodies out of bed (I can't believe it' the flu and not food poisoning - good though) we spent the day wandering the town and Phil wanted to get some pictures of Plaza Murillo and the soldiers in their period costumes.
Back to the bus station hopefully for our bus. . . It nearly left on time - and our seats were double booked but luckily they had just put the wrong numbers on two other tickets and we were off to Uyuni. . .
