We have spent the last week in Northland. It was really nice there except for the persistant rain. We decided not to go on a boat cruise on the Bay of Islands as the weather wasnt very nice and we didnt fancy being stuck on a boat. Rotorua is definately Sulpher City. It stinks. We have spent a day looking at geysers and boiling mud. We saw the geyser in the picture. We then watched a Moari concert which was really good with alot of singign and dancing. We then went Zorbing. Getting into a bouncy ball with water in and rolling down a hill, really funny. We have enjoyed going caving in the Waitomo Caves. We had to abseil into the caves and then went caving in water up to our waists. We then floated back down the river on inner tubes. We explored the caves for an hour then had to rock climb back out the caves. The floating was fun but i didnt really enjoy the abseiling or rockclimbing very much.

Today I have done a skydive. I jumped out of a plane at 12000 feet. It was amazing, thats all i could say in my DVD. I saw the mountain that is in this picture and its on the West Coast. After waiting for the rain to stop and the clouds to clear for days, it was worth it as it was a lovely clear sunny day. I want to do it again.

We left Taupo on Tuesday and drove up to Taurunga, we spent the next day here walking around the town and then drove onto Waihi. here there is a large working mine which we found about and the went to Karangahake Gorge where we slept for the night.
