Hi All, So we've done Orlando and seaworld - visited Shamu and did the usual tourist stuff!! - You cannot predict life as a backpacker, it is mad.. Our greyhound from Tampa to Orlando was late and we missed our connection so spent the best part of a day in a greyhound station in Tampa and what should have been a 2hr journey took about 7!! Anyway got to the final distination and Andy got mistaken by a lady for her nephew who was also backpacking and she was picking him up.. we got chatting and she then offered us a lift to our motel - which saved us $30 - these things all happen for a reason! - Dont panic - she was nice lady not a wierdo - we were more dangerous to her than she would have been to us!! And yes, Tara has obviously fallen over many times already (beating Elaine hands down on this score, amoungst many others as well...;-) a la 'Armadillo roadkill' with backpack in situ. Anyway.. after a further grewling 12hr overnight greyhound bus from Orlando to Louisianna - we have hit New Orleans!!! - and it is amazing! - the atmosphere is so laid back and everything revolves around music and drinking really. The main famous street is Bourbon street which is full of bars and restaurants and you can walk between bars with your drinks!! Cow-Girl Karoke in 'Cat's Meiow' - need we say more? Going back tonight - Andy well up for an 'Islands in the stream' duet!!?!!However after hearing a great song called" Save your horse, ride a cowboy!" that could soon change.! We made the most of it on our first night, and hence spent the next day feeling sorry for each other.. - great night We ve been on the Mississippi River on a jazz boat cruise. Been up the world trade center and had a hurricane cocktail (or two) in the revolving bar at the top and done the cultural bit and looked around the museums... tomorrow we are catching another 12 hr greyhound over night to Dallas to catch our flight to Memphis and visit the king. We will put pics on this site but we are all muppets and forgot to bring out camera leads to the internet cafe! - so will add them later.. so will have to keep you in suspense.. So, Travel word for this week is ..... HURRICANE!
