Please ignore the pictures on the Postcards - they don't give us options for everyplace, (we know that this is the Washington monument!!) So what seems like soooooooo long ago now we did Chicago!! - Fantastic Place, our Hostel was really good, people were great and the City was fantastic... Did the usually City Sight seeing, went up the John Hancock Observatory Tower and had cocktails, (with olives) looking out over the city and Sears Tower. Went to Navy Pier, Andy and Tara saw the Cubs stadium, (even if it was by accident ... because the Tourist map was wrong, obviously!!!). First day was glorious sunshine, the next day it snowed so we had to buy rather fetching thermal underwear... ( Tara's were actually called SPANX! - Can you believe Americans, what posessed them to call them that?!?), and then the next day it was sunny again; we were going to take them back, but had become quite attached by then. We were in Chicago for Paddy's day, so went to an Irish Bar (Mystic Celt) where it was packed and had a great atmosphere; they served green beer as well. Another good night!! This was the night that we were apparently in the same bar as Keanu Reeves- fwoaarrhhhh (obviously only Tara and Elaine)... never saw him as we were too pissed to see straight - damn it, and the barman kept it quiet till he had gone!! He was filming locally for his next movie with Sandra Bullock ( so we assume it was Speed 3?) and then the next day we saw all the film crew right outside our hostel... so will definatley be watching. After this was Karaoke night (again).... Andys first participation ( first of many to come) - Singing Righteous Brother's with Nick, guy from Hostel. Beautiful moment we all nearly cried; - for those of you that don't know Andy is a VERY good singer!! Yet to hear Tara!?! - and I'm just not doing it!! Another fab late night and early dash to the airport to hit New York! Start spreading the news......... Phrase of the week: SPANX - We've got your cold butt covered!!!
