San Diego was our most recent stop although we really didn't see much of it at all. Stayed at Banana Bungalow Hostel where pretty much everyone stays... right on the beach, with decking, cheap beer, sunsets and watching dolphins 20ft off shore.. - what more could you want!! Bumped into Tim from San Francisco once more which prompted an all day drinking session... beer for breakfast anyone??? Ended up in Hooters much to Elaines Disgust ( you should see the awful orange hot pants they get them to wear...if your gonna try and make girls look sexy you really shouldnt give them hotpants with elasticated wastebands!! - really not very classy !!!!) ... anyway...stitched up a young american lad called Avery by pretending it was his birthday and he ended up standing on a stool in the middle of the restaurant with balloons up his top and a rubber chicken on his head singing and dancing to the YMCA with the Hooters girls!! - Very funny and he was a very good sport!! Visited San Diego Zoo... it was good.. pretty much a Zoo really but Tara was well happy as it had hippos!! Took a day trip down into Mexico to Tijunana just over the border, about an hour from San Diego.. in preparation for Peru...very touristy, and commerical and you really cant judge Mexico on Tijuana, but it was an interesting day out...its mostly bars and strip joints really... practiced our spanish with Taxi drivers and Elaine perfected her "where is the bathroom please" in spanish - so she'll be ok! Said goodbye to our new found travelling companion Karl.. back off to Sunny England... Poor Sod!!!;-( Phrases of the week... "Welcome to Hooters!" "Anyone for the YMCA?" "Style.... Profile...."
