Hello All
Ourlast weekend in New Zealand is just about over and we're getting ready for a full week of work ahead of us. As well as doing lots of driving, we've managed to see some of the sights that make that long flight around the globe worthwhile. Smelly, sulphuric and slighty spooky Rotorua was unlike anything either of us had experienced before.Plenty of photo opportunities as you will see in the album, but they don't convey the whole experience without the sounds, smell and oppressive heat. We also joined a flock of tourists in an educational tour that explained some Maoritraditions andbeliefs and particularly enjoyed the carving and weaving schools. Interesting in itself and also providing us with some useful cultural references for our project. Then, on to Auckland, away from the smells and steam (one night was enough!!).Ponsonby is quite a trendy and well -off area, full of nice bars, restaurants and shops - unfortunately all beyond our budget! Our guest house is much more characterful and cosy than our previous 5 digs. There are free jelly beans and a bald cat. Today, we decided to find a pleasant spot, away from the city to process, digest and discuss what we have learnt to date. If only reflective practice could take place in a seaside cafe every day!!!!Tomorrow, we have our first Mason Clinic visit. The staff there have been kind enough to plan a timetable of events for us and we'll find out what they have in store for us tomorrow morning.
It's beginning to feel like we've been away a long time. Thinking of you all at home and hope you're wrapped up well and surviving the pre Christmas frenzy.
Adrienne and Susi xx
