Finally, I’ve managed to get to the pc before Sam and have my say (Sam: actually she’s refused so far and now I’ve forced her). (Zoe: That’s a lie you just think you write better than anyone else). (Sam: Just get on with it – but frankly I do).
Anyway since our last Journal update we went snorkeling over beautiful coral reefs with an abundance of colourful fish with interesting names we can’t remember (we leant a lot!) We swam with Nurse Sharks and massive stingrays who our guide insisted on feeding while Sam trod water and I desperately swam in the other direction.
Other than that we just chilled, eating and drinking and enjoying the quiet life of Caye Caulker. When we had enough of that we headed to San Ignacio a small town in the Jungle with lots of exciting tours.
We did the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave Tour as it was supposed to be the best tour in Belize. It was very cool, we had to swim, wade, hike, slide, and climb through some very dark and very small crevices to get to the massive chamber where the Mayans sacrificed children and adults to the rain god. The skeletons and random pottery of offering were all still there (see pics). (Sam: Zoe was very scared the whole way through and nearly cried). (Zoe: Sam winged about the cold the whole way through and managed to bang his knees on every rock in the entire cave).
That was all a bit active so we are now chilling on the beach once again, this time in Placencia, which is a very quiet, and beautiful seaside town in the South of Belize.
Till next time. Bye.
