Hi Guys, just a quick update of what we´ve been upto over the last couple of weeks. We beelined it to Iquique a small surfy beach resort in Northerin Chile to escape the high altitude of Peru and recover from bad bellies...
After a week of chilling in the sun and eating good (home-cooked) food we made our way to San Pedro De Atacama a small, pretty village made of mud, rock and straw set in the desert with a reasonably low altitude of only 2440 metres and plenty of (rip-off) tours and well expensive food and drink. We splashed out and checked out the Tatio Geysers (highest Geyser field in the world I think at over 4000m) which was a 4am start and well below freezing so we spent most of our time trying to warm our frozen fingers in the steam of the Geysers. Also saw the Altiplano Lakes which were very beautiful, some Andean villages, the San Pedro salt flat (largest in chile complete with flamingo colonies) and the Valle de la Luna where we just missed out on catching the famous sun set. (all very nice - see pics)
Now bolting across Argentina to Iquazu Falls.
Will keep you all updated, xx
