Got picked up by our driver at 8 AM - who was a really nice man but doesn't speak a lot of English so we were told the day before that everywhere we go there would be a local English speaking guide looking after us but that he would be our driver for the next 4 weeks. A quick 3 hour flight to Mauritius where we took the opportunity to catch up on our washing at our little B & B. The following day in Mauritius was spent touring the southern park of the island, including a welcome visit to a rum distillery which included a rum cocktail and 9 samples …… A pleasant end to our island experience.

Left for Jo'burg airport at 9:45 … spent a couple hours in the terminal, sharing a coffee with Elke and buying a new camera (to replace the drowned one).
