well:) after a pretty long trainride (15h) we finally did arrive in Amsterdam on thursday morning and started off getting lost while looking for our hostel :) however in the end we did find it and made it clear to step outside and stroll across the shopping the city :) Getting a first impression of how much amsterdam has to offer.
I think this city, and the Netherlands in generally ar amazing! i love the small and tiny houses that are either brick or really colorful. The small caffees with the little windows facing the street really add to the relaxing and friendly flair:)
if u do wanna be cheap around the city you have to walk a lot! public transport it so shocking expensive you do not even want to know how much a ticket is! we did the free neweurope walking tour around the city which lasts 3h and isreally incisive. You do get a god overlook over the history, the monuments, the rules and legistlation concerning prostitutes and drugs as well as some reeslly funny facts such as why amsterdam is named as it is or why the houses are soooo tiny. :)
In the evening we enjoyed e Red Lights Quater Tour :) which was fairly interesting as Prostitution is legal here and prostitutes or sex workers as they like to be called are selling "their kisses" in the windows:) they however seem not to like austrians (or at least not me) as i was being yelled at and shouted at to get my ass out of her view/window^^)
the beauty of amsterdam lies within te millions of lil rivers within the city :) they remind you a lil of venice. I am really amazed by the positive attitude floating around this city, thenice dutch people and the beautiful city:)
