Went to pick up my new iPod. And they really were able to get one for me overnight. I'm feeling like a lost limb got reattached ;)
Checked out the extraordinary stylish interior design of the new ArtScience Center and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Had a $20 drink at the rooftop bar "Ku De Ta", of course ;) But the true star of Singapore's recent urban development is the creation of the new 101 hectares public botanical "Gardens by the Bay". 8 years ago there was only reclaimed wasteland. Now there are sustainable structures like the "Cloud Forest", the "Flower Dome" and the fantastic awe-inspiring Supertree Grove with an half-finished new IndoChine bar on top of the tallest tree. Incredibly when I was there late at night I had the whole bar for myself and the staff showed me the soon to be opened second rotating rooftop bar with its incredible view. On top of it all they have an amazing light show and even walking through the park at night is breathtaking. Reminds you of the scenery in "Avatar". In other words this garden is one of the coolest places on Earth!

Holte heute meinen neuen iPod ab, den sie wirklich ueber Nacht liefern konnten. Nun fuehle ich mich, als haette man mir einen Gipsverband abgenommen ;)
Schaute mir das stilvoll eingerichtete Marina Bay Sands Hotel mit dem ArtScience Center an. Und hatte natuerlich einen Drink ($20) an der Bar "Ku De Ta" auf der Dachterrasse ;)
Aber der eigentliche Star von Singapore's Stadtplanung ist der neu kreierte 101 Hektar grosse oeffentliche botanische "Garden by the Bay"! Vor 8 Jahren war dort nur Oedland, dem Meer abgetrotzt.
Jetzt stehen dort spektakulaere Bauten wie der "Cloud Forest" und der "Flower Dome". Oder der fantastische Supertree Grove mit der zur Haelfte fertigen IndoChine Bar oben auf dem hoechsten der kuenstlichen Baeume. So unglaublich es klingt aber als ich spaet abends hinaufging hatte ich die ganze Bar fuer mich allein! Und das Personal zeigte mir die fast fertig gebaute rotierende zweite Bar auf dem "Dach" mit ihrem einmaligen Ausblick. Ausserdem veranstalten sie abends atemberaubende Lichtshows. Wenn man nachts durch den beleuchteten Park laeuft fuehlt man sich wie in einer Szene aus "Avatar". Mit anderen Worten es ist einer der coolsten Orte auf der Welt!
