Today we left Ashford Castle and headed south taking the Connemara route. This route takes you through the Connemara National Park where you can see the 12 Beans or Pins, a group of mountains that one can hike. We did the short 30minute hike which is a circular route starting at the visitors center then going around to an overlook where you can see across the valley and the mountain ranges back down a slightly steep downhill slope and back to the visitor's center...

The others slept in and decided to stay in the castle today but me being the active on the go person, I decided to climb St. Patrick's mountain. After getting directions from the front desk and finding out that the visitor center was only an hour and half away I took the car and headed off. The drive was a curvy winding road and the view was nice. I pulled off one of the side parking stops to take a picture of the lough (lake) with the small islands dotting it...

Left b&b around 9:30 went to Donegal Castle. The castle was rather small compared to the one's we've visited so far. Itwas located right in the center of town and you did your own self guided tour.
