Well dello dudes and dudettes!! Herein lies the update o' the second half o' my Singapore trip!
Since the last blog I have been completely crazily busy! I know Dana, you will love the next thing I did...awesome!! Went to F1 drifting event (fast and the furious stylee)! Was unreal! Gonna get the photos and videos o' this uploaded soon! Also saw Jenson Button and Lewis Hamiltons Formula 1 racing pitstops! very cool! After this we went on and had a fabby feet, leg, shoulders and neck massage, sooo good! and unbelievably cheap! I had so many knots though it was a touch sore...but great afterwards!
Next day, had a crazy tropical thunder and lightning storm, you would most definitely not have liked this mum...was pretty cool to see though! And it was still hot despite the rain which was great! So we scooted off to Chinatown and wandered around. Wen to Sri Mariamman Temple: the largest Hindu temple in Singapore and then onto the Buddhist Temple which was phenomenal! Had to cover up by wearnig a brown cotton bag and a pashmina (ye, I looked great...)! The temple was truly inspiring though with hundreds of idols and statues and a golden temple made with 420kg of gold!!! There was also a slightly odd section which had ancient sacred relics containing Buddha's brain, nose, hair and many more body parts (although they appeared as tiny glass balls, dunno if they were meant to contain miniscule particles or what). Then on the roof of this temple was the 10,000 Buddha Temple (funnily enough containing 10,000 Buddhas) and the largest prayer wheel in the world! This temple was set within an orchid garden. Never felt so peaceful and zen like! Then we continued the zen like trance and headed off to Jurong to the Japanese and Chinese Gardens which are massive! Went up a Pagoda here which gave beautiful views over Singapore! To finish the day we went to a night safari, the only one in the world! Very odd 'cos it is actually set in the real rainforest jungle and just had sections built in in to house the snow leopards etc. you basically wandered around this place in the dark and never knew when you were gonna come across an animal! Very eerie! Went through the bat enclosure and they were literally flying around our heads! It's great to see animals being up at their natural time though (all animals here are nocturnal). There was also a fire breathing performance here!
Okay, next on the list, we spent a day at universal studios back on Sentosa Island! Great day out and it even resulted in me dancing freestyle in a dance off on front o' over 200 folk...lol, and the video to prove it, thanks ralph! Chilli crab for tea with Ralphs mates which was great too! Yum yum! Finished the night with a Singapore Sling in Raffles (of course)! Again, yum yum!!!!
Finally went back to the Flow Rider but it was fully booked so had to go on the barrell one instead...o dear!! I was fairly disastrous! Although the one video I got of it I'm doing not too bad!! Will upload this sooN! Unfortunately no time for the re race on the Luge with Ralph so this will have to wait until I get back to SIngapore! Bring it on!
Now time to travel to Oz...hehe!!
Take care folks!
