Monday, April 2: We finished packing, had lunch with Dan and Valerie, returned our rental car having driven 9,686 Km (about 6000 mi) in three months, checked in at Air New Zealand and settled in for the wait. The lane left on time, but we had the most turbulent plane ride we have ever encountered...ten of the twelve hours were spent bobbing around in the air. We arrived in Los Angeles at 12:30 PM. Due to the magic of the International Date LIne, it meant we arrived in LA seven hours before we left Auckland! Immigrations/luggage/customs took about an hour and we were off to our hotel for the night.
Tuesday, April 3: After a good nite of sleep, we returned to LAX for the flights home. With only one slight delay in Denver, we were at the Manchester airport at 11:30pm, and with Heather for a driver arrived home just after midnight. Noah and Robyn were on hand to greet us, and we settled in for a sleep in our own bed. Unfortunately, I could not fall asleep; so at 2am I was unpacking our luggage!
Wednesday, April 4: Shopping, cooking, getting ready for Passover.
Thursday, April 5: More of Thursday's activity and dinner at Milano's with friends...good to see them all.
Friday: April 6: Family gathering for Passover Seder. Laura and Jon's boys are getting so big. It was a real homecoming celebration.
Saturday, April 7: Shabbat services at my synagogue, an afternoon nap (so my face wouldn't be in my soup at dinner), and a drive to Marblehead to celebrate Passover with my sister and brother-in-law. Home and asleep by 9:30PM!
Sunday, April 8: The house is back to normal after all the weekend company, Buzz is out at the Fish and Game Club at Skeet shooting, and I am reviewing this blog. I hope you have enjoyed the journey with us. Once I figure out how to get the photos from my iPAd to my computer, I will add photos to all the entries in the blog...if you's like to have another look. Thanks for travelling with us and for your comments along the way.
