Hello, again, Blogonauts!
As predicted by the sky-watchers, my last day in Nürnberg was the first where the weather wasn't as spectacular as the scenery. So my consequent plan was to devote most of the day visiting the Germanisches Nationalmuseum.
This is a vast collection of archaeology and art, both secular and sacred, and much of it drawn from the area around Nürnberg. Included inside the walls of the museum is an abbey church, which was the only church in Nürnberg to avoid damage from Allied bombing during the war. There are also paintings by Albrecht Dürer and by Rembrandt, among a host of others. It was a pleasant way to avoid the raindrops, and by the time the art was finished with me, the clouds had stopped leaking.
I used up almost all the words in yesterday's post, so today's will balance yesterday's abundance with brevity. Instead, you may click on the "Photos" tab above to review a dozen or so snapshots in the album marked "Germanisches Nationalmuseum."
Blog to you later!
