After much time spent researching and shopping and comparing and sewing we packed up and donned our packs and went for a walk.
Around The Barwon River circuit is a decent walk of about 18/19kms. I set my phone tracker and off we set. From the Queen's Park Bridge we headed for Fyansford and the cross country club runners. Stopped to chat to a couple of people we knew. Onwards we walked! I used my poles the whole way, Paul only towards the end.
A stop for coffee at Barwon Edge before continuing. Another stop at the boatsheds where we took our shoes off for 10 minutes and it started to rain so we took out the rain skirts and put them on. We were both dry and the skirts worked a treat!! A slight adjustment needs to be made as Paul's is about 10cms too long and mine about 5cms too short. The rain was fairly constant but we stayed dry.
Had a terrific lunch at the caravan park cafe before continuing on our way. Not long after a couple passed us calling out, "Buen Camino!" We did laugh!! Another fellow asked what were training for and told us that he was walking it in 4 years time!
Finally back to the start with just over 19kms under our belt! No blisters, but can feel the legs and Paul his hip.
Well done! I say!
