I had aches and pains last night and did not sleep well. I think I had a mild case of the flu. I still didn't feel very well in the morning and had no desire to eat. I was worried it would ruin my trip to England today. The last thing I needed was to be sick while I travel. I actually went back to bed for a couple of hours and felt much better when I woke up. Not sure if it was because of the person beside me on the flight to Copenhagen but I normally have a good immune system.
The flight to London, UK was smooth. The only frustrating part was having to fill out the Landing Card at the UK border. They didn't provide you with a pen on the plan nor in the airport. So you have to ask someone for one. So, always remember to bring a pen. I actually brought 2 pens and a pencil but forgot it in my large luggage in Lisbon. Sometimes being proactive still sets you behind.
I took the subway to Victoria Station and bought a ticket to Eastbourne at the wicket. She was helpful but she could have been more friendly. The attendant at the subway was very kind and helpful though. Next time I travel to Eastbourne I'll have to remember to book the flight into Gatwick as it will cut at least an hour of travel time.
Travel days are always long and tiring. Luckily it will be a relief to reach Eastbourne and get some unwind time with my friend Toby before bed. The next few days will be less travel and more rest and relaxation. I've been here a couple of times in the past so I've already done the tourist thing. I'm hoping that we can go to Brighton for a visit. If not, it's not a big worry.
