I was very tired last night. I slept well but the odd squeaking sound of the bed woke me up a few times.
Breakfast was include so I took advantage of that and had some coffee, toast and a croissant.
I made my way through the city of Naples and noticed several things. The first thing is how much liter is on the ground and secondly that no one seems t work here. There were so many people out and about.
I saw Castello Nuovo and Castello Vecchio (on the hill). I took several photos.
I saw several churches but noticed they exteriors were not so extravagant as in other cities. They were very dull and plain in comparison.
I came across a shopping area that was identical to the one in Milan. I think it was called Gallerie D'Umberto.
I realized after the fact that it was an national holiday. April 25. It's Italy's independence day. No wonder there were sooo many people about and shops closed. I don't know if the streets were so dirty because of that too but I doubt it.
I returned to my room and had an afternoon nap. I think I was still feeling the repercussions of my travel day.
I needed to get something to eat so I had a focaccia sandwich. So many places were closed.
I took another stroll at night and treated myself to a sfogliatello. It's puff pastry filled with a ricotta cheese and cream filling. Oh my. Delicious. I'll have to make some when I get home mmmmm!!
I found the castle I took pictures of earlier and it looked even better at night. What do you think?
It's an early night for me. I'm exhausted. I have another travel day tomorrow. Last big place, Calabria!!
Q30
