Heya!! Sorry I haven't updated in a while.... It's been a bit mental here :-) absolutely amazing place!!! It's a very chilled back packer atmosphere but also total party place!!! We have met so many people here!! Met an American girl who lives in Bangkok and is holidaying here and have really clicked with her! She has seen a lot of Asia an has so much great info for us!!! She is really cool!!! We arrived on Sunday evening and all went out to eat and partied hard :-) the next day we took it easy... Not by choice but were physically unable to do anything due to tiredness ha!! We went out that night to celebrate Patricks night!! It was great as the only Irish bar in Laos is next to our guesthouse :-) On Tuesday a group of us went somewhere called the blue lagoon ( it's the cover photo) it was gorgeous... There where places to jump in and swings in the water... I didn't jump in because I am scaredy cat :-) but went in swimming... The heat is ridiculous and so humid... My maltese family know all about that :-) so a swim is just heaven!!! There is also a cave by the blue lagoon so we went quite high up these steps if you could even call them that with bamboo sticks as railings. We then went deep enough into the cave with our head torches. It was unreal!!! The cave is pitch black.. No exaggeration!!! After around 45 min we thought it best to turn back as we were freaked we would get lost haha!!! Me an Trev got a scooter to go to the blue lagoon and that was some experience. The road is a rocky bumpy dirt path but we took it handy...well I made sure Trev drove slow ha!! It is an extremely rural road so just a couple of shanty houses and a couple of guest houses here an there. We saw children out playing and cycling to school. Lots of cows roaming the place and chickens here and there!! That evening we went out again..:-) Yesterday we went cave tubing which is basically sitting in giant inflatable rings and pulling your self through this cave filled with water by a rope, head torches again as it's pitch dark!! We had a guide for this!! It was excellent. It's out by this tiny farming village so it was lovely walking through it! The guide brought is to another cave which we could walk to only a very small cave that has a stone elephant in it. They believe that he was the elephant king who got tubes to stone while looking for his daughter!! After that we went kayaking 7km (my poor arms) down a lovely river!! Beautiful sites along the way!!the guide let us take a break in this riverside bar so we got a drink and chilled in hammocks... Total heaven!! Last night I was pretty shattered so went to bed at 12!!! Woke up though at 4am and couldn't sleep so at 7 am me and Trev went and got a banana pancake!!! They do the BEST pancakes here....loads of pancake ladies all over the place...It prob sounds very standard but theses pancakes are out of this word... Mine had bannana, honey and condensed milk!!! We came back and slept for a bit. We decided today to take it easy enough so we went to this nice hotel and went to the pool there!!! It was beautiful... Lay on loungers over looking the river with a view of beautiful mountains!!! We got a massage after that ( my fourth massage since I got here ) they are only € 4 for 40min!! Just back at the guest house now! After my shower and just waiting on Trev and we will go for dinner soon an then prob do a bit if partying as it is Jenna's (the American girl) last night!!! Will update soon again!!
