Glad to be back again, house good and weather perfect. Went down to Miami Beach for a couple of days, driving was long and boring but the place was spectacular and took lots of Deco photos. Stayed at the Eden Roc for old times sake, it was barely recognisable having had a zillion dollars spent on it.

We have decided that it is too hot in July here except in emergencies like this English summer. Today it hit you like a blow when you opened the door, and the bright light is painful. This afternoon we had a spectacular storm, the thunder rattled the windows and you could feel it in your guts like a wedding disco. But then we saw a beautiful double rainbow ( poor photo) so that was OK.

I think this is the hottest day the patio was too hot to walk on and when we went into town for lunch and to pick up my new hi- tech sunglasses I was perspiring just standing there. Went canoeing in the afternoon and then to the beach for some cool, there was a spectacular thunderstorm many miles to the south (see photo) it looked like they had dropped the bomb on Cuba.

Another v hot day. Went to the beach about 6pm saw America there. Firstly a wedding bride in gold lame all tacky but the speeches and vows were touching and maybe more relevant than ours. Another hot sticky day. Went canoeing in the afternoon, lovely and cool out in the bay and much easier to get going with the new dock.
