No photo as yet, even though I've just come back from the South Rim of the Canyon at sunset and forgot to take my camera, doh, doh and doh. We left the Bellagio around 10am and had another 5hr drive ahead of us. We took a little detour so that I could drive along Route 66 and ended up having lunch in a place called Williams. Now, I thought they would at least give us a free drink seeing as the town is my namesake, unfortunately, they didn't quite see it that way - how rude! Checked in at the Holiday Inn at Tusayan and I promptly collapsed on the bed for a nice 1hr sleep. On waking, I was informed by my mum that we were moving rooms as the room was too noisy. Once that was sorted, we could set out for my mum's first view from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have lost count of the times that she said "absolutely marvelous/wonderful". It was stunning as we had timed it just right for sunset over Mather Point. Tomorrow is up early for a drive to Desert View and a whole day in and around the Grand Canyon. I will not forget my camera!
