So, we have finally arrived in New Orleans....took 2 days of driving. We started from Disney World, Orlando and drove to Panama City Beach for the night....that drive took 6 hours so once there we spent the evening in a cute Mexican restaurant and at Coyote Ugly's - yup just like the movie but not as exciting as the summer season is over, so not many people about!

We stayed in a small and cheap motel which seemed okay, situated on the beach which was beautiful and was close to all the bars and shops etc however was full of cockroaches/or palm bugs as the manager called them.....there was a whole family of them and after killing 3, we decided to leave and change rooms. Fortunately, our 2nd room wasn't as bad and did for the night and we left early the next morning for the 2nd leg of our drive to New Orleans.

Arrived in New Orleans at 2.30pm, staying at a very nice hotel which is a nice change - the Clarion which is quite close to all the action but far away enough that we can get a good night sleep. Our first night was really good, there was so much going on and so many different restaurants, bars and clubs all going until 4am - we didn't make it that far however, after our long drive all day we settled on a fried alligator and tradition cajun dinner and a few drinks whilst watching the live bands. Though it was really amazing, very different to the nightlife i'm used to, so going to give it a better go tonight.
