From the beginning our goal was to reach Alice Springs and for Cameron to work for around 8 weeks, spend some time with my best mate since childhood Maree and her partner Giles, then continue our journey North. On the the third day I mentioned to Cam that he should visit town and check out the work situation. Rumor has it that if you can't get a job in Alice you don't want one. When I think about the middle of nowhere, Cober Pedy comes to mind. Its one of the most unique and baron places I have ever visited. We first go to the visitors centre where we meet Cheryl and Andy, a lovely couple who have been travelling for some time. We talk for a while and soak up the wealth of information they have about travelling to offer. We exchange details in hope of catching up with them down the track in Aice Springs. Today we travelled to Port Augusta Via Port Germein to see Australia's longest wooden jetty 1646 metres long. We visited the Port Augusta Warffest for the weekend. Cameron and the kids took a joy flight over Port Augusta in a helicopter. Although it only when for a few minutes, they thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a day of rides and junk food. We returned later that evening to enjoy the firework display right on the river.

We are staying in Port Broughton for 10 days so we can get our tax done and get stuck into "cool school" so we can get ahead, as the next leg of our trip we will be travelling a lot through the day. Again we are right on the beach. Stunning sunsets. A sleepy town with few shops. We drove to Port Pirie (70km's away) this week to stock up on supplies and visit the Shark museum to see "shakka" the replica of a 5.4 metre great white, found dead in fishing drag...
