Hi everyone! Hope your all having a good time back in England I'm having an amazing time out hear it's brilliant! I arrived at Cape Town airport at around 7:30am on the 15/09/05 after an 11 hour flight and checked in at my hostel at around 9:00am. After an hour of sorting my stuff out i climbed to the top of Table Mountain which I thought would wake me up but I was exhausted by the time I reached the top. At one point I had to use my hands to help get up because it was so steep! The weathers been really good and there has hardly been a cloud in the sky all the time I'v been hear. Yesterday I went on a day tour to a Town called Hermanus which is about an hour and half drive South East from Cape Town to go whale watching. We saw about 5 whale's and it's really cool when they burst out of the water. In the afternoon I went to visit one of the local shanty towns on the edge of the city called Khayelitsha where the guide from my hostel grew up. The local people are so friendly I was really suprised and we even went into the local bar and had a beer with them before all the litle children took us for a walk around there street. Amoungst the shacks we went inside the smallest bed and breakfast in africa which has only 3 rooms in total. I also tried one of the local foods which are known in this area as 'smilies' or in other words sheep's head! The reason they're called smilies is that the lips or mouth curls up when their cooked but despite the horrible appearance the meat on it actually tastes a bit like chicken even though I wouldn't have it again! Today I went down to the waterfront with one of my friends from the hostel and went around the local market a to the aquarium and saw loads lf sharks and other weird fish things. I'v also been out to a bar and club every night so far with a couple of lads in my room and at about 60p for a bottle of beer I'l probably be out most nights! I havn't managed to download any pictures yet but i'l try and put some on by the end of the week. Hope everyones ok and I'l let you know what else I'v done at the end of this week.
